Revelation: Vision

Jan 14, 2024    Pastor Cary T. Nelson, PhD

God speaks to you in your spirit. We have spiritual site.

This will be a year of personal revelation. Have you lost your zeal, your joy, your peace, your fervor?

God wants you strong in Him, strong in the faith.

Sometimes life rips it out of us. We don’t willingly lose it, but it ebbs away nonetheless. God wants us to have His fire again.

God’s Spirit reveals the Word, revealing God’s will, His Way, and His plan for your life.

Knowing you’re where God wants you to be and doing what He wants you to do is a great feeling, but we rarely feel that. However, we’re not supposed to live by feelings… but by faith, knowing God is working His plan in our lives.

Proverbs 29:18 - “Where there’s no vision the people perish: but he who keeps the law, happy is he.”

In Israel, when there was a king that served God, the nation was blessed. They had the Word of God spoken out. God’s Word was revealed and the people heard it and saw the plan and the law.

At one point the Word was lost to Israel and when they found it they realized how far they had strayed.

People have itching ears. They seek to hear what they want to hear. But, without God the people perish. It’s a broad path to destruction.

Without purpose and an understanding of God’s plan, people run around blind, doing whatever they want, not realizing it leads to destruction.

Lamentations 2:9 - “Her gates have sunk into the ground; he has ruined and broken her bars; her king and princes are among the nations; the law is no more, and her prophets find no vision from the Lord.”

There is a way that seems right to man, but it leads to death. Man cannot make it on his own.

Spiritually blind people don’t know where they’re going.

Airplanes flying in clouds are blind… visually. You have to have an instrument rating to do so… kind of like how we should be following the Spirit in our lives.

Micah 3:6 - “Therefore it shall be night to you, without vision, and darkness to you, without divination. The sun shall go down on the prophets, and the day shall be black over them.”

Read the Word daily to get vision and plan. We need to hear His voice speaking to us on the inside. We need to hear it from other people. Hearing something from someone else provides confirmation or invalidation. When we’re not sure we need to keep seeking.

Ezekiel 12:21-27 - “And the word of the Lord came to me: ‘Sone of man, what is this proverb that you have about the land of Israel, saying ‘The days grow long, and every vision comes to nothing’? Tell them therefor, ‘Thus says the Lord God: I will put an end to this proverb, and they shall no more use it as a proverb to Israel.’ But say to them, ‘The days are near, and the fulfillment of every vision. For there will be no more any false vision or flattering divination within the house of Israel. For I am the Lord; I will speak the word that I will speak, and it will be performed. It will no longer be delayed, but in your days, O rebellious house, I will speak the word and perform it, declares the Lord God.” And the word of the Lord came to me: ‘Son of man, behold, they of the house of Israel say, ‘The vision that he sees is for many days from now, and he prophesies of times far off.’”

We need to take God’s direction, His prophetic Word and put it in our faces so we cannot ignore it.

Declare what God wants and what He requires of us so that we can fulfill the call and desire of our lives. We are called by His grace into salvation and service. We are all in the ministry. Each of us has our own gifts and we are supposed to serve Him in that way in a full-time capacity.

The world watches us and we have a testimony.

Vision is supernatural insight into the plan, Will and purpose of God to direct people down the straight and narrow path that leads to God. Everyone of us needs to have this vision, because it’s the pathway to life.
