Speak Words of Restoration

Proverbs 18:20,21 - A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth;

From the produce of his lips he shall be filled.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue,

And those who love it will eat its fruit.

Question: What’s going on in your life? What’s it filled with? Are you pleased with what’s going on? Are you not?

Who do we have to blame for the answers to these questions? Our own words and actions are what fill our lives.

Matthew 12:35-37 - A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

The good news is (because we believe in Jesus) can repent now and get it all out now.

By our own words we will be justified or condemned. What will our words do to us?

Let’s check up on what’s coming out of our mouths.

Are you mumbling? Grumbling? Are these things we should be doing?

Speak words of justification.

Job 15:4-6 - Yes, you cast off fear,

And restrain prayer before God.

For your iniquity teaches your mouth,

And you choose the tongue of the crafty.

Your own mouth condemns you, and not I;

Yes, your own lips testify against you.

Job 15:12 - Why does your heart carry you away,

And what do your eyes wink at,

That you turn your spirit against God,

And let such words go out of your mouth?

Job got into trouble because he thought himself more righteous than God.

Isaiah 55:11 - So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;

It shall not return to Me void,

But it shall accomplish what I please,

And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Don’t speak out negativity. Speak life and positive outcomes, because what you speak out is what so often comes to fruition. Let’s ensure that our words aren’t the cause of our troubles.

Luke 6:45,46 - A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

Let’s speak out life over Trinidad. Instead of being negative, be positive and overcome the abundance of our thoughts (our hearts).

Fear is the opposite of faith, but works in the opposite direction. Faith brings our focus on God, while fear takes us away.

Are we speaking death, or are we speaking life?

Proverbs 6:2 - You are snared by the words of your mouth;

You are taken by the words of your mouth.

Proverbs 10:11 - The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: it violence covers the mouth of the wicked.

Spouses can speak life or death into each other.

Proverbs 12:14 - A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth,

And the recompense of a man’s hands will be rendered to him.

Speak works of power, faith, and love, but we need them in our hearts first so they can come forth from that abundance.

God wants to bless us, but we often speak negative words and it shortcuts God’s plan and prevents us from the blessings that He wants to give us. Once we start speaking life, it opens those pathways.

Proverbs 12:18 - There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword,

But the tongue of the wise promotes health.

Let us not disagree with God… He did so much for us. He obviously has our best interests at heart.

Proverbs 21:23  - Whoever guards his mouth and tongue

Keeps his soul from troubles.

Proverbs 13:3 - He who guards his mouth preserves his life,

But he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction.

Psalm 141:3 - Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth;

Keep watch over the door of my lips.

Many Christians speak both life and death. Let us focus only on words of life.

Romans 10:8-10 - But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
