Run, Fly, Walk

Most of the Christian life is not flying. It is walking.

Enoch did not catch a flight to heaven. Genesis 5:24 says he walked with God—and God took him. Isaiah 40:31 still promises that those who wait on the Lord will mount up with wings like eagles, run and not be weary, walk and not faint. The surprise in the Hebrew is that “wait” is not sitting still. It is the word for a waiter: bind yourself to the Lord, serve Him, become one with Him.

Psalm 37 says trust, delight, commit your way, and rest. Then the New Testament keeps repeating the same verb: walk by faith, walk in the Spirit, walk in newness of life, walk in love, walk worthy, walk as children of light. The first days with Jesus can feel like flying. Seasons of ministry can feel like a run. What people actually see—and where the battle is won—is the trench: faithfulness, dedication, and commitment when life has settled into an ordinary walk.

Don’t despise the walk. That is how you find Him. That is how you finish.
