Following God

Romans 8:14-17 - For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

Mark 4:18,19 - Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

John 15 - Abide in Me

Deuteronomy 6:6-9 - “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Deuteronomy 11:18-21 - “Therefore you shall lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates, that your days and the days of your children may be multiplied in the land of which the LORD swore to your fathers to give them, like the days of the heavens above the earth.

Proverbs 20:27 - The spirit of a man is the lamp of the LORD,

Searching all the inner depths of his heart.

Stay close to God. Stay in His presence.

God will speak to us in our innermost being.

Sometimes we can’t tell if it’s God talking to us or our own mind. How can we tell? There may be no totally concrete method… but we can ask the following questions: Is this something I want to do or is it what God wants? Is it a good thing? Will it draw me or others to God? Then it’s probably from God.

Psalm 18:28 - For You will light my lamp;

The LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.

Allow God to light our path. Let His voice and His Word light up the darkness. Let the light show you the way. When you step out of the light, you will stumble and fall into trouble.

John 4:24 - God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Romans 8:26 - Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

The Spirit will pray for us. “Groaning which cannot be uttered.”
